Mary Catherine Stoumbos, Ph.D.

Instructional Coach


Mary Catherine holds a PhD in Music from Columbia University, with a focus in Ethnomusicology, as well as an MMus from King’s College London in Musicology and Ethnomusicology and a BA from Emory University in Mathematics and in Music (Piano Performance). Prior to joining the CTE, she worked at the Columbia Center for Teaching and Learning. She also taught in the Undergraduate Writing Program at Columbia University and previously taught high school math and music theory at the Ben Franklin Academy in Atlanta, GA. As an Instructional Coach, Mary Catherine partners with faculty and graduate student instructors to work through any pedagogical questions or needs, specializing in evidence-based inclusive teaching practices.
